Meghan Markle’s estranged father Thomas takes a swipe over royal race row

Thomas Markle, the father of Meghan Markle, has expressed his dissatisfaction with the lack of response from his daughter and son-in-law, Prince Harry, to the recent revelations in Omid Scobie’s new book, “Endgame.” These revelations concern the royal family and have garnered significant attention.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Thomas Markle noted it was unusual that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had not publicly distanced themselves from the book’s content. This silence has raised questions for Meghan’s estranged father about their stance on the matter.

Previously, a source close to the couple informed The Sunday Mirror that Harry and Meghan never intended for the names of their family members to be disclosed. An insider also emphasized that the details about discussions regarding their son Archie’s skin color, a major point of contention, were not provided to Scobie by Meghan’s side of the family.

The controversy concerning allegations of racism within the royal family was initially sparked in 2021. During an interview with Oprah Winfrey, Meghan made startling claims about how she was treated by the royal family, including conversations about Archie’s skin color.

Following this interview, the royal family released an official statement addressing these allegations. The statement acknowledged the family’s sadness upon hearing about the difficulties Harry and Meghan faced in recent years. It recognized the seriousness of the issues raised, especially concerning race. The family assured that these matters, although recollections may vary, would be handled privately and underscored that Harry, Meghan, and Archie remain beloved members of the family.
