Maya Henry Takes Legal Action Against Liam Payne Amid Ongoing Feud

Maya Henry, ex-fiancée of former One Direction star Liam Payne, has initiated legal proceedings against him, accusing him of persistently contacting her despite their breakup. The 23-year-old model from Texas has instructed her lawyers to issue a cease and desist letter, claiming that Payne has repeatedly reached out to her, her friends, and her family, including her mother, Azteca Henry, via the Sun.

In a statement to MailOnline, Henry’s legal team confirmed, “Maya Henry issued a cease and desist last week to Liam Payne following the emergence of new and concerning information. She has retained attorneys Marco Crawford and Daniel Cerna to represent her.” This development is the latest chapter in the bitter public feud between the former couple, whose on-and-off relationship ended in 2022, nearly a year after calling off their engagement.

Payne, 31, has since moved on with his new girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, while Maya has focused on promoting her debut novel, Looking Forward, an art-imitating-life romance about a girl who falls in love with a pop star.

Last week, Maya shared her frustrations with her TikTok followers, claiming that Payne has gone to extraordinary lengths to stay in contact. “Ever since we broke up, he messages me, blows up my phone—not just from his phone, but from different numbers, so I never know where it’s coming from,” she said. “He’ll create new iCloud accounts to message me—it’s always a new damn iCloud account.”

In addition to his repeated attempts to contact her, Maya also accused Payne of reaching out to her mother and friends, a habit she claims began while they were still together. “He’s the one constantly doing weird sh*t,” she said. Maya further alleged that Payne uses his One Direction fanbase, who are loyal to him, to shield himself from accountability. “When you constantly enable someone, they’re never going to realize what they’ve done is bad,” she explained.

Maya’s accusations come after Payne publicly admitted to his struggles with relationships. In a 2021 interview with Stephen Bartlett on The Diary of a CEO podcast, Payne reflected on his breakup with Maya, saying, “I keep on hurting people. I’ve just not been very good at relationships… I just wasn’t giving a very good version of me anymore.”

As the legal battle unfolds, it remains to be seen how this latest development will impact their already strained relationship. Despite their rocky past, both Liam and Maya are continuing to move forward with their respective careers.
