Matty Healy urges Oasis brothers to end feud and reunite

A recently resurfaced video has reignited hopes for an Oasis reunion, showing Matty Healy, frontman of The 1975 and ex-boyfriend of Taylor Swift, passionately urging the Gallagher brothers to put aside their differences and reunite for a Glastonbury headline spot. The clip, originally from a February 2023 interview with CBC News, has fans buzzing with excitement as speculation about an Oasis comeback continues to build.

In the video, Healy doesn’t hold back as he calls out the famously feuding brothers, Liam and Noel Gallagher, for letting their personal issues stand in the way of what could be a monumental reunion. “What are Oasis doing?” Healy asks with exasperation. “Can you imagine being in potentially the coolest band in the world and not doing it because you’re having a spat with your brother?”

Healy’s blunt advice to the Gallaghers—”Grow up! Stop sulking!”—has struck a chord with many fans who have longed to see the iconic band back together. Healy further criticizes the brothers for what he sees as petty behavior, saying, “They’re men of the people, but instead they’re in Little Venice and Highgate, crying over a family feud. Get back together, headline Glastonbury—do us all a favor!”

Despite Healy’s earnest plea, the video also highlights the ensuing fallout between him and Noel Gallagher. Not long after the interview aired, Noel fired back with sharp words of his own, dismissing Healy as a “slack-jawed f*wit” and taking a jab at The 1975 by suggesting that Healy “needs to go over how sh his band is and split up.”

Yet, even with this public spat, rumors of an Oasis reunion have only intensified. Over the weekend, reports emerged suggesting that the estranged Gallagher brothers might finally reconcile—not just for a headline slot at Glastonbury next summer but also for a series of 10 shows at Wembley in 2025.

The resurfaced video, with Healy’s impassioned call for reconciliation, has added fuel to the speculation, leaving fans hopeful that the legendary band could indeed make a comeback. Whether or not the Gallaghers will heed Healy’s advice remains to be seen, but the buzz surrounding a potential Oasis reunion is louder than ever.
