Man Dismembered into 27 Pieces, Housemate Stands Trial for Murder

A gruesome murder case has shocked the nation as a man was brutally killed and dismembered, and his body parts scattered across various beauty spots in Greater Manchester, a court has heard. The victim, 67-year-old Stuart Everett, also known as Roman Ziemacki, was allegedly murdered by his housemate before being sawn into 27 pieces. About a third of his remains were later recovered from multiple locations, including Kersal Dale and Boggart Hole Clough, reported Manchester Evening News.

Marcin Majerkiewicz, the 38-year-old accused from Eccles, has denied charges of murder as he stands trial at Manchester Crown Court. Prosecutors claim Majerkiewicz had been harboring a “growing sense of frustration” with Everett, particularly over a rent increase dispute.

Referring to a fellow housemate, Michal Polchowski, prosecutors revealed an alarming message allegedly sent by Majerkiewicz to his partner: “The f* heard what I’m planning”, according to Daily Record.

The jury heard that the first body parts were discovered on April 4 last year in a wooded area of Kersal Dale, wrapped in cling film and hidden in an abandoned bunker. Further remains—including skull fragments, an ear, and internal organs—were later found in Worsley Woods, Blackleach Reservoir, and Linnyshaw Colliery Wood.

CCTV footage played in court reportedly places Majerkiewicz at several of these locations between March 28 and April 3, often carrying what appeared to be a heavy bag but leaving without it. Prosecutors claim that nine packages of body parts were found in Worsley Woods, including Everett’s heart, kidneys, and lungs.

“At that location, a further nine packages of body parts were recovered,” said prosecutor Jason Pitter KC. “Significantly, this included many internal organs including the heart, kidney, lungs.”

Investigators say forensic evidence from Majerkiewicz’s residence linked him to the crime. Police found bloodstains in key areas of the home, including a cut-out section of carpet. A hacksaw blade stained with Everett’s blood was later recovered from a skip outside the property.

Further evidence suggests an attempt to cover up the crime. Jurors heard that Majerkiewicz used Everett’s phone to send fake messages, including one falsely stating that Everett had suffered a stroke and moved to Derby. Prosecutors also claimed he accessed Everett’s bank and PayPal accounts for personal use.

Forensic expert Dr. Philip Lumb confirmed that Everett suffered “a sustained, severe blunt force assault”, with injuries consistent with a fatal beating. The prosecution asserts that Majerkiewicz attempted a “significant cover-up operation”, disposing of evidence while misleading authorities.
