Lucien Laviscount Teases Alfie’s Potential Return to Love in ‘Emily in Paris’ Season 4

Lucien Laviscount, who portrays Alfie Peterson in Emily in Paris, has hinted that love “might come back round” for his character in the second part of Season 4. In the popular Netflix rom-com, Alfie and Emily Cooper, played by Lily Collins, were on a promising path until a shocking revelation about Gabriel disrupted their relationship.

Alfie made a sudden exit, and the wedding between Gabriel and Camille was called off. As Season 4 unfolds, fans have seen Gabriel finally win Emily’s heart, leaving Alfie seemingly out of the picture. But is this truly the end for Alfie and Emily?

When asked by Radio Times about Alfie’s return to heartbreak, Laviscount shared, “Gosh, it was eye-opening,” adding, “No, I think, honestly, I think for Alfie, just going through [Season 4 Part 1], opening up his feelings and being vulnerable, it’s been a lot of growth for him, I think.”

The 32-year-old actor expressed optimism about Alfie’s romantic future, suggesting that love might still find its way back to him. “I think that there’s always a time in life where love might come back round. I don’t think anything’s ever written off,” he remarked.

Ashley Park, who plays Mindy Chen on Emily in Paris, also weighed in on Alfie’s situation. “Well, some exes are definitely written off, but I don’t think Alfie is about to be. I would give him a day. No, I think there’s an end to some, wherever, and you delete the number and it’s over. But in terms of Alfie, perhaps.”

During a recent appearance on Capital London’s breakfast show, Laviscount shared an interesting behind-the-scenes story about his role. According to The Mirror, Laviscount revealed to radio hosts Jordan North, Kemi Rodgers, and Chris Stark that Alfie was initially intended to appear in just two episodes.

Reflecting on the unexpected extension, he recalled, “I remember it was supposed to be my last day, I got this little round of applause, and then Darren Star, the creator, comes in and says, ‘Lucien, you’re not leaving Paris.'” Laviscount humorously added, “And I’m like, what have I done wrong? I thought I was going to get arrested or something. And he went, ‘No, we’re going to keep you around a little bit.'” As fans eagerly await the second part of Season 4, Laviscount’s hints suggest that Alfie’s story—and possibly his romance with Emily—might not be over just yet.
