ITV’s Good Morning Britain and Lorraine See Hosting Shake-Up Amid Summer Breaks
0ITV’s popular morning shows Good Morning Britain and Lorraine have experienced a shake-up in their presenter lineup, as regular hosts take their summer holidays. This week, Ranvir Singh, 47, who has been filling in on Lorraine, took on hosting duties for Good Morning Britain alongside Adil Ray, 50, on Friday, leading to another switch for the 9 a.m. slot.
Viewers were delighted to see This Morning’s Andi Peters step in to host Lorraine. Typically, Andi appears across all three ITV shows to announce the day’s competitions, but on Friday, he pulled double duty by stepping in as a presenter, reported Daily Mail.
This change is just one of many recent hosting adjustments as staple presenters like Lorraine Kelly and Susanna Reid enjoy their summer breaks. Over the past week, a variety of guest hosts have appeared on the shows. Notably, TV legend Trisha Goddard made her debut on Good Morning Britain, filling in for Kate Garraway and co-hosting with Richard Madeley for two episodes.
Meanwhile, over at This Morning, with regular hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley on vacation, Josie Gibson and Craig Doyle have been leading the show. Rylan Clark also made a brief appearance, co-hosting with Josie for a day.
The week wasn’t without its hiccups, as This Morning descended into chaos during Wednesday’s cooking segment. Chef Nathan Anthony joined Josie, 39, and Rylan, 35, to demonstrate how to make tandoori chicken kebabs, a recipe touted as quick and easy. However, things quickly went awry.
After preparing the chicken skewers, Nathan moved on to heat the flatbreads, but Josie accidentally burned her fingers when she grabbed a scorching hot skewer to take a bite. Realizing her mistake, she gasped in pain and dropped the skewer, sparking laughter throughout the studio. Rylan, ever the jokester, quipped, “I’m going to take you off to A&E in a minute,” to which Josie responded, “I’ve got no fingertips left but it’s all good.”
The chaos didn’t end there, as the flatbreads intended to accompany the dish got stuck in the air fryer, failing to make it to the plate. Trying to salvage the situation, Rylan added humorously, “We won’t judge you for that; we’ll just say it was an accident on television.” Despite the mishaps, the hosts managed to present the final product, though Josie struggled to contain her laughter as she wrapped up the segment.
