Lorraine Kelly Reacts to Kelly Osbourne’s Bold Criticism of Celebrity Behavior During Wildfires

Lorraine Kelly weighed in on Kelly Osbourne’s outspoken comments about celebrities using the devastation of the LA wildfires as a “photo opportunity” during a segment on her morning show, reported by Page Six. The Scottish presenter, 65, hosted US entertainment reporter Ross King, who provided updates on the wildfires, which have caused widespread destruction.

During the discussion, Lorraine brought up Kelly Osbourne’s frustration over certain celebrity responses to the disaster. A clip was played where Kelly passionately criticized those seeking attention for their charitable efforts.

“Is it really disturbing to see all of these celebrities using other people’s pain and suffering as a photo opp to say, ‘Look, I’m helping, I’m doing this, I’m doing that,’” Kelly said in the video. “I don’t believe you help someone if you get attention for helping. I’m so confused, I believe it’s so wrong. No one asked you to come out and give hugs.”

Lorraine was struck by Kelly’s take, calling it “interesting,” and added, “To be honest with you, if you hadn’t said that was Kelly Osbourne, I wouldn’t have recognized her at all. Isn’t that amazing? She’s changed dramatically.”

Kelly Osbourne, the daughter of rock legend Ozzy Osbourne and TV personality Sharon Osbourne, first rose to fame on the family’s MTV reality show The Osbournes in 2002. She briefly pursued a pop music career in the early 2000s but has since built a reputation as a TV presenter.

Osbourne co-hosted E!’s Fashion Police from 2010 to 2015 and appeared on Dancing With The Stars in 2009, where she finished in third place. More recently, she has served as a judge on Australia’s Got Talent and Project Runway Junior.

However, her journey has not been without challenges. Kelly has been open about her struggles with addiction and checked into rehab on October 18, 2021. Despite these hardships, she has remained a prominent voice in entertainment and isn’t afraid to speak out, as evidenced by her fiery critique of celebrity behavior during the wildfires.

Lorraine’s viewers appreciated the candid discussion, which shone a light on both the ongoing wildfire crisis and the broader issue of performative altruism among public figures. Kelly Osbourne’s bold remarks sparked debate and added a powerful perspective to the morning program.
