Lorraine Kelly Shocked by AI Image of Craig David on Her Show: “Oh My God, What Have You Done?”

Lorraine Kelly was left stunned during her ITV morning show when she was unexpectedly shown an AI-generated image of singer Craig David. The 64-year-old host, known for her warm and engaging style, returned with another entertaining episode, covering everything from health advice to the latest in entertainment news. However, it was her chat with the acclaimed artist Craig David that took an unexpected turn.

During their conversation, Lorraine and Craig discussed his successful career and his latest single. Lorraine, comparing him to a beloved storybook character, exclaimed, “Now look, can I say that you’re a bit like Willy Wonka that you distribute chocolate bars to everybody”, told The Mirror. But as they continued talking, the studio screen suddenly displayed an AI-generated image of Craig’s face edited onto Willy Wonka’s body, catching Lorraine completely off-guard.

Startled, Lorraine reacted with surprise, yelping, “Oh, oh my God! What have you done?” and added humorously, “Don’t ever get that hairstyle!” A similarly surprised Craig could only respond with a “wow” before recalling that the image had a connection to his work. He reminisced about his music video for What’s Your Flavour, which featured a Willy Wonka-inspired sketch. “But in the What’s Your Flavour video, if you go back to that video, I did a whole Willy Wonka sketch in that. So I was actually playing Willy Wonka because my first album, Born To Do It, the title actually came from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory,” he explained.

Craig David, famous for hits like 7 Days and Fill Me In, is making a comeback with his latest track, In Your Hands. After taking a two-year break, the artist has not only released the new single but also dropped its accompanying music video, which features a younger version of himself. In a recent interview with Hits Radio, he opened up about the inspiration behind the song, which offers a contemporary twist on a familiar Christian hymn often sung in schools.

In Your Hands is such an important song for me as I wanted to shine light on how truly special we all are. Especially when we allow our inner child to play, that part of us that holds the ‘true’ meaning and joy to life,” Craig shared. He further elaborated, “It was so important for me to land each part of the song to honour the simple, yet powerful sentiment of the chorus.”

Fans of Craig David will be excited to know that along with his new single, he is gearing up for a tour set to kick off in February 2025, marking a highly-anticipated return to the stage.
