On-Air Drama Unfolds as Paul Whitehouse and Wife Clash During Chaotic ITV Lorraine Appearance

Lorraine Kelly found herself mediating a live lovers’ quarrel between Paul Whitehouse and his wife Mine during an ITV appearance that turned unexpectedly awkward. The couple joined Lorraine to promote their podcast I’m ADHD – No You’re Not! and share an exciting “announcement,” but the exchange quickly became tense.

Mine, trying to prompt Paul to reveal the announcement, subtly elbowed him. However, Paul missed the cue entirely. Growing frustrated, Mine said, “You told me I wasn’t allowed to say anything,” urging Paul to take the lead on their big news about their upcoming tour. Paul, seemingly oblivious, deflected by praising Mine’s recent MBE for her contributions to early childhood education and neuroscience, reports the Daily Record.

“Oh, the MBE…” Paul began, only for Mine to interject: “But it’s not my MBE.” Lorraine quickly chimed in to diffuse the moment, smiling, “It is your MBE.” Mine graciously replied, “No, but thank you. I am very proud.”

The confusion continued as Mine tried again, hinting, “Tell them about the…” before whispering in Paul’s ear. Finally, he exclaimed, “Oh blimey, yeah, we’re doing a couple of live shows!” Lorraine stepped in to wrap up the awkward moment with, “You’re both going on tour together, how wonderful!” She steered the conversation in a positive direction, asking Mine if it was her first tour. Mine confirmed it was and expressed excitement about collaborating with her husband.

The interview also touched on Paul’s work with Bob Mortimer in the popular BBC Two series Gone Fishing. Paul explained that the show began as a way to support Bob after his 2015 triple bypass surgery, which revealed that 95% of Bob’s arteries were blocked, according to the Mirror.

Bob, who has faced numerous health challenges including severe shingles and muscle wastage, praised Paul for his unwavering support. Speaking to The Mirror, Bob shared, “I wasn’t very well, and it made it a bit of a struggle, but, as always, Paul looked after me and pulled me through. For half of the season, I couldn’t walk, so it was very challenging at times.”

Paul described the show as more than just a fishing series. It’s a heartfelt opportunity for two old friends to bond while raising awareness about health challenges.

Despite the live hiccup, Lorraine helped the couple refocus, leaving viewers entertained and eager for their upcoming live shows.
