The unsettling find prompted an immediate response from the Metropolitan Police shortly after 9am on April 2, following reports of the remains, by BBC.
The distressing news was relayed to the family of Sarah Mayhew, leaving them to confront the tragic loss of their loved one. In connection with Mayhew’s death, a 44-year-old man and a 48-year-old woman were taken into custody on suspicion of murder and remain under investigation.
Detective Inspector Martin Thorpe, at the helm of the inquiry, expressed his condolences to Mayhew’s family, emphasizing the devastating nature of their loss and assuring ongoing support.
