Lisa Faulkner Shares Alarming Warning She Received After Joining Netflix Series

Actor Lisa Faulkner, 52, is gearing up for her role in Netflix’s highly anticipated series Missing You, based on Harlan Coben’s 2014 novel. The show, which drops on January 1, follows detective Kat Donovan (played by Rosalind Eleazar) who matches on a dating app with her fiancé, who disappeared years earlier.

Lisa plays the character Dana Fells and expressed her excitement about the project in a recent interview with The Express. However, she teased that she had been warned by Netflix not to reveal too much about the plot. “I’m really excited about it. I don’t know what else I’m allowed to say because it’s quite scary working for Netflix because they say, ‘no, you can’t say this and you can’t say that.’ But yeah, I’m really excited,” she laughed.

Despite her limited role, Lisa praised the script and the adaptation of Coben’s book. “The scripts are brilliant. I have a small part, but I am really excited about doing it,” Lisa said. “The book is really good, and I think the series will be brilliant”, reported by the Mirror.

Lisa is no stranger to television, having appeared in popular shows like Holby City and EastEnders. She shared that it’s easier to pursue acting roles now that her daughter, Billie, 18, is older. “I really want to keep acting. As my daughter gets older, it’s easier to be able to go out and do stuff so it is really exciting,” she explained.

In recent years, Lisa has also gained fame as a television chef alongside her husband, John Torode, 58, with whom she co-presents Weekend Kitchen and has co-authored a cookbook.

John Torode expressed his excitement for Lisa’s return to acting, saying, “It’s great that Lisa is getting to go back and do what she loves.”

Missing You is the latest of Harlan Coben’s works to be adapted into a Netflix series, following Fool Me Once. The series stars Slow Horses actress Rosalind Eleazar, with Richard Armitage, Jessica Plummer, Sir Lenny Henry, and Steve Pemberton rounding out the cast. The story centers on Kat Donovan as she is thrust back into a mystery when her long-lost fiancé, Josh Buchanan (played by Ashley Walters), reappears on a dating app years after his disappearance. Fans can catch Missing You on Netflix starting January 1.
