Loose Women Chaos as Linda Robson Breaks Down Over Pauline Quirke’s Dementia

London, Jan 31, 2025 — In a deeply moving episode of ITV’s daytime show “Loose Women,” presenter Linda Robson was brought to tears as she discussed her close friend Pauline Quirke’s battle with dementia. The beloved Birds of a Feather co-star opened up about Quirke’s condition, visibly struggling to contain her emotions during the heartfelt segment, reports the Mirror.

Host Christine Lampard offered compassionate support to Robson, acknowledging the difficulty of the conversation. “Clearly, you are there for her and you have got a bit of experience too. You will lean on each other going forward. It is so good thank you have got each other. It is difficult, Linda, I know. Thank you for sharing,” Lampard said, providing Robson with much-needed comfort as she navigated the sensitive topic.

Overcome with emotion, Robson broke down in tears, supported by her fellow panellists who rallied around her during the segment. In a touching gesture, Lampard extended love to Pauline Quirke and her family, stating: “We are sending all our love to Pauline and her family. You take a little moment”, according to the Express.

After regaining her composure, Robson delved deeper into her enduring friendship with Quirke, reminiscing about their bond that began in childhood. “We were at the same primary school together and we did everything together. We travelled all over the world, we went to amazing places. Because of Birds of a Feather, it opened many doors. We had such amazing times and she was an amazing actress as well,” she shared, highlighting the depth of their connection.

Robson continued to honor Quirke’s personal life, mentioning her family: “She has got the most beautiful family, a loving husband Steve [Sheen] who was the love of her life. Her kids as well, she has got two kids and granddaughters as well.”

Reflecting on their shared experiences, Robson added: “We sort of did everything the same. We were really naughty. We used our fame to get into so many different places.”

The discussion came shortly after Quirke’s husband, Steve, announced last week that she would retire from “all professional and commercial duties” following her diagnosis of dementia in 2021. On Instagram, Robson expressed her sorrow and support: “This will be the only time I speak on behalf of my best friend, Pauline. For the past three years, I’ve been in close contact with her husband, Steve, and have spent time with Pauline. It breaks my heart to see her endure such a terrible illness. Out of respect for her family and her privacy, I will not be discussing this matter further.”

Steve Quirke also released a statement regarding his wife’s condition: “It is with a heavy heart that I announce my wife Pauline’s decision to step back from all professional and commercial duties due to her diagnosis of Dementia in 2021.” It was revealed on “Loose Women” last week that Robson had known about Quirke’s diagnosis for “some time,” adding another layer of poignancy to her emotional appearance on the show.

As the public learns more about Pauline Quirke’s courageous fight against dementia, Robson’s heartfelt tribute serves as a poignant reminder of the personal struggles behind the public personas of beloved celebrities. The episode not only highlighted the emotional toll of dementia but also underscored the strength of long-lasting friendships in the face of adversity.
