King Charles’ Unique Nickname for Meghan Markle Unveils His Genuine Sentiments

King Charles III, formerly known as Prince Charles, reportedly had a unique nickname for Meghan Markle, symbolizing his admiration for her resilience and strength. This moniker came to light during Meghan’s early days in the royal family, before she and Prince Harry decided to step back from their royal duties in 2020 and move to California.

The nickname “Tungsten,” as revealed by royal journalist and author Katie Nicholl in her 2022 book “The New Royals: Queen Elizabeth’s Legacy and the Future of the Crown,” was given to Meghan by Charles around the time of her engagement to Harry in 2017. The term tungsten, referring to a metal known for its toughness and high melting point, was seen as a testament to Meghan’s strong and unbreakable nature.

While it’s not clear whether Charles continues to use this nickname, it originally portrayed Meghan in a positive and respectful light. However, the relationship between Meghan, Harry, and the broader royal family has since experienced tension, highlighted by the couple’s candid revelations about their experiences within the monarchy in interviews, their Netflix documentary series, and Harry’s memoir.

Despite these challenges, recent developments suggest Harry is seeking to mend his relationship with his father, especially following Charles’ cancer diagnosis earlier this year. Harry made a significant visit to the UK after hearing of his father’s health issues, and there are reports that he wishes to bring his children, Archie and Lilibet, along on his next visit to see the King.

Meghan has previously expressed her appreciation for Charles, particularly for his supportive gesture of walking her down the aisle at her wedding to Harry. In their Netflix series, she recounted how Charles’ willingness to take on this role was particularly meaningful to her, emphasizing the importance of their relationship.
