King Charles Plans to Assign Prince Andrew Non-Public Role to Protect Royal Image Amid Epstein Scandal

In response to the ongoing scrutiny over Prince Andrew’s ties with Jeffrey Epstein, King Charles is reportedly contemplating a strategic move to safeguard the Royal Family’s reputation. This consideration arises as Prince Andrew’s name appears among 170 individuals in the recently publicized list linked to the late Jeffrey Epstein.

The list, unsealed by a New York judge, includes victims of sexual abuse, witnesses from court cases, and former associates of Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. It further complicates the already challenged image of the Duke of York, who has consistently denied any misconduct.

One notable claim in the documents, made by Johanna Sjoberg, involves Prince Andrew allegedly touching her breast in Epstein’s Manhattan apartment in 2001. Buckingham Palace has firmly denied these allegations as “categorically untrue.”

Daily Express US commentator Richard Fitzwilliams suggested that Prince Andrew’s prospects of returning to active royal duties are now highly unlikely. With the release of these documents and upcoming television programs scrutinizing Andrew’s infamous BBC Newsnight interview, his public standing and patronages have significantly diminished.

Richard proposed that a new role for Prince Andrew, possibly managing royal estates, could limit his public visibility and reduce the ongoing embarrassment his presence at royal events causes. This move aims to mitigate the adverse effects of the scandal on the Royal Family, especially in the wake of the heightened media focus.

Former Sun royal correspondent Charles Rae also commented on the situation, speaking to GB News. He highlighted that the release of these documents is not a one-time event but part of an ongoing series of revelations. Rae speculated that Prince Andrew, despite denying the allegations, would be deeply troubled by the continuous emergence of new information.
