King Charles appears ‘nervous’ showing off his left hand in new video

During a significant meeting at Buckingham Palace, King Charles displayed a mix of bravery and subtle nervousness in his first face-to-face interaction with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak since the public disclosure of his cancer diagnosis. At 75, the King’s demeanor was closely observed by royal enthusiasts, who noted a slight hesitation in his movements, particularly concerning his left hand.

In a photograph circulated by the royal family’s official social media channels, King Charles is captured in the act of greeting Prime Minister Sunak with a handshake. Observers pointed out that the King seemed cautious about using his left hand, which he initially kept tucked away in his coat pocket. Later, as they took their seats, the King was seen removing his hand from the pocket to rest it on his knee, a move that did not go unnoticed by the public, told Daily Mail.

Despite the undercurrent of tension, the atmosphere between King Charles and the Prime Minister was one of cordiality and mutual respect. The meeting marked their first official engagement of the year, a momentous occasion given the King’s health challenges. Prime Minister Sunak’s warm greeting, “very nice to see you,” was met with a candid acknowledgment from Charles about the unusual break in their routine meetings, attributing it to “a bit of a gap I’m afraid.”

In a reassuring exchange, Sunak expressed the nation’s support for the monarch, stating, “we’re all behind you, the country is behind you.” This sentiment seemed to buoy the King’s spirits, leading to his lighthearted quip: “Well, it’s all done by mirrors, really,” showcasing his characteristic wit amidst personal adversity.

The King’s current health situation has necessitated a shift in his royal duties, with a focus on convalescence at his Sandringham estate in Norfolk. Despite the adjustments, sources close to the royal household have indicated that King Charles remains engaged and capable of fulfilling a select number of official commitments both in-person and remotely. This balanced approach to his royal responsibilities underscores the King’s dedication to his role while prioritizing his well-being.
