Kim Woodburn Slams Jane Moore for “Cruel” Comments About Washing-Up in the Jungle

Former I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! star Kim Woodburn has hit out at Jane Moore following the latter’s comments about being assigned washing-up duties in camp during this series. Jane, 62, was the first celebrity to leave the jungle and, before her departure, suggested that being asked to do the dishes by fellow contestants Barry McGuigan and Danny Jones was “s*xist and ageist”, according to the Daily Record.

Although Jane later clarified that her comments were intended as a joke, Kim, 82, was not impressed. In a scathing critique, she called Jane’s remarks “cruel,” especially towards Barry, who she described as a “quiet man” with “no s*xist bone in his body.”

Kim stated, “At that time, she hadn’t done one trial, and she was given those dishes, so she’s done very well for nearly two weeks. And to say [‘s*xist’] to Barry the boxer—who you know is such a quiet man—I thought, ‘Oh Jane, that man hasn’t got a s*xist bone in his body, come on!'”

The outspoken reality star went on to express disbelief over Jane’s explanation that her comments were a joke. Kim ranted, “Sitting on your backside not doing a dish, who do you think you are? Who the hell do you think you are?” She added, “Please, if I had two minutes with her, I’d wipe the damn floor with her”, reported by the Express.

Kim also suggested that she would be open to returning to the jungle for the right price, hoping to inject some drama into the show. “If I had been in there, I would’ve said, ‘Listen you, you haven’t even done a trial, why shouldn’t you do the dishes? Lazy a**e.'” She further criticized Jane’s comments about Barry, stating, “Barry wouldn’t harm a fly, he’s a gentle chappy, that was cruel.”

Kim also took aim at Jane’s Loose Women co-star, Ruth Langsford, who had been a guest on the show’s spin-off. Kim criticized the decision to book Ruth, calling it “a waste of money,” and also slammed producers for allegedly canceling her own appearance in favor of Gillian McKeith.

In response to the backlash, Jane defended herself during an appearance on Loose Women, explaining that her reluctance to do the washing-up was due to exhaustion from other chores in camp, which may not have been shown on camera. She reiterated that her comments to Barry and Danny were meant as a joke. “I was 100 percent winding them up and teasing them,” Jane explained. “Danny got it straight away. Barry… I think he thought I was serious, and I very quickly said to him, ‘Barry, I’m winding you up. Don’t worry about it.'”
