Kim Woodburn’s No-Holds-Barred Critique: ‘Phillip Schofield Got Too Big for His Boots’

Kim Woodburn, former Celebrity Big Brother contestant, has never been one to shy away from speaking her mind. Her fiery personality made waves once again as she delivered a stinging critique of Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, following a memorable and heated interview on This Morning. The 82-year-old reflected on the tense exchange, which occurred during her appearance on the show, and did not hold back when recalling how she felt treated by Phillip.

Kim, who famously clashed with Phillip during their chat, believes the 62-year-old presenter wasn’t acting professionally during the interview. Phillip had pressed her on her experience on Celebrity Big Brother, questioning her claims of being bullied by fellow housemates. Kim, who has always been vocal about her difficult time in the reality show, maintains that she only stayed in the house to collect her fee.

Speaking to Reach PLC via WhichBingo, Kim shared her thoughts on Phillip’s career, stating, “I think Phillip Schofield started out as a great presenter, he was, you know, to be fair. He did a lot of shows and he did them impeccably and was very likeable. Do you know what happened? The last few years of his career, he got too big for his boots“, told the Express.

Recalling their clash on This Morning, Kim described Phillip’s behavior during the interview as dismissive and condescending. She explained how his approach during the conversation caught her off guard. “When I was interviewed by him, he was rude, he was opinionated, he was on the edge of the sofa looking at me. ‘Well, why did you go in?’ I mean, that’s not what a presenter does.”

But Kim’s sharp words weren’t reserved solely for Phillip. She also took aim at Holly Willoughby, who co-hosted This Morning alongside Phillip for 14 years. According to Kim, Holly would not have lasted that long on the show without Phillip by her side. In her candid remarks, she claimed, “What did she ever do on the show? She was 14 years of Phillip Schofield, money for old rope, she didn’t do anything.”

Kim went on to criticize Holly’s handling of serious discussions on the show, particularly when Phillip was being confrontational with guests. “She sat there when he was arguing with people or questioning people on something serious… when he was rude to someone, did she once ever say in 14 years, ‘Phillip, I think you’re wrong, you know, no, come on.’ Not once!” Kim added, insisting that Holly wouldn’t have lasted so long without Phillip’s presence, even though she believes Phillip’s rudeness is what made the show compelling. “Although he was rude, at least he made it interesting.”

Phillip Schofield left This Morning in May last year after revealing an affair with a younger colleague, an affair he described as “unwise, but not illegal.” Holly stepped down from the show in October, citing concerns after a kidnap threat against her. Both presenters have since returned to television in new roles—Phillip recently starring in Channel 5’s three-part series Cast Away.

Despite her critical stance, Kim acknowledged Phillip’s tenacity, suggesting he would thrive if he ever appeared on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!. She commented, “I don’t like Phil, but bless him and credit to him, he survived on that place. He was mucky and filthy and he got on with it.”

Kim Woodburn, always unapologetically bold, continues to voice her unfiltered opinions on the public figures she’s crossed paths with, ensuring her name remains just as memorable as the stars she critiques.
