Killer Nurse Lucy Letby to Launch Shocking New Appeal Against Her Convictions!

Lucy Letby, the convicted child serial killer, is set to challenge her conviction next month at the Court of Appeal. Court staff confirmed on Friday that the former nurse is pursuing an appeal against her conviction for attempted murder. Judges are scheduled to consider her case on October 24.

Letby, who was sentenced to 14 whole-life orders in August 2023, was convicted of the murders of seven babies and the attempted murders of six others, including two attempts on one of her victims. These horrific crimes took place while Letby worked at the neonatal unit of the Countess of Chester Hospital between June 2015 and June 2016.

Previously, Letby’s attempt to challenge these convictions was rejected by judges in May. She was later given an additional whole-life order following a retrial in June and July for the attempted murder of a baby girl. A court order continues to prohibit the reporting of the identities of the surviving and deceased children involved in Letby’s case, told Cheshire-live.

In addition to her appeal, a public inquiry into the circumstances surrounding Letby’s crimes began earlier this month. Chaired by Lady Justice Thirlwall, the inquiry is being held at Liverpool Town Hall. The hearings are expected to conclude by early 2025, with the final report due for publication in late autumn of that year.

The BBC also reported that Letby has a new legal team, with her barrister Mark McDonald announcing plans to make an application to the Criminal Cases Review Commission (CCRC). The CCRC investigates potential miscarriages of justice and can refer cases back to the Court of Appeal for further consideration.

Letby’s upcoming appeal has sparked widespread attention, as her case remains one of the most shocking and high-profile criminal trials in recent UK history.
