‘Catwoman’ Jocelyn Wildenstein Passes Away as Tributes Flood In for the Icon of Extreme Plastic Surgery

Swiss-born socialite Jocelyn Wildenstein, famously known as Catwoman, has passed away at the age of 84. Her distinctive look, often attributed to rumored cosmetic surgeries, made her a global icon, according to OK! Magazine. Paris Match reported that she died in a grand Parisian palace from a pulmonary embolism. Her partner Lloyd Klein confirmed the news, stating her passing left him deeply saddened.

Jocelyn, born Jocelyne Perisset, became a household name for her striking features, which she compared to those of a lynx. She once said, “The lynx has perfect eyes. If I show you pictures of my grandmother, what you see is these eyes cat eyes and high cheekbones.” Throughout her life, she consistently denied undergoing excessive cosmetic procedures despite widespread speculation, reported by the Mirror.

Her life was filled with glamour, controversy, and resilience. Jocelyn rose to prominence through her high-profile marriage to French billionaire Alec Wildenstein in 1978. Their divorce in 1999 made headlines worldwide as one of the most expensive settlements in history. Alec once claimed they both underwent matching eye lifts early in their marriage, adding fuel to public fascination with her appearance.

In a 2017 interview with People magazine, Jocelyn addressed her openness toward plastic surgery. She said, “It is not an addiction that I have but I am not averse to having more work. I would happily have more if I felt I needed it. Why not?” Her unapologetic stance resonated with many, solidifying her as a figure who lived on her own terms.

Jocelyn’s relationship with Lloyd Klein, which began in 2003, endured nearly two decades. Their bond showcased her softer, more intimate side away from the media spotlight. In September, Jocelyn surprised fans with a throwback photo that depicted her in a glamorous Hollywood-inspired look, a stark contrast to her Catwoman persona.

Tributes poured in on social media following her death. One Twitter user wrote, “The world bids farewell to Jocelyn Wildenstein, known as Catwoman, who has passed away at 84. A life that captivated many, she will be remembered for her unique beauty and bold personality.” Another simply posted, “#RIP Jocelyn Wildenstein.”

Jocelyn Wildenstein leaves behind a legacy that transcends her iconic image. She will be remembered as a woman who embraced individuality, defied conventions, and lived life unapologetically.
