Loose Women’s Jane Moore Admits She ‘Pulled the Rug Out’ from Ex in Candid Marriage Split Reveal

Jane Moore has opened up about her “friendly divorce” from ex-husband Gary Farrow, three years after announcing their split live on Loose Women back in 2022. The broadcaster and columnist spoke candidly about how things unfolded behind the scenes and why they’ve still managed to stay close, even sharing Sunday lunches as a family.

Chatting with co-host Sunetra Sarker on the Loose Women podcast, Jane, 62, explained that while the public only heard about the separation in 2022, she and Gary had been working through it long before that. “Anybody listening to this who has got divorced will know that by the time people know about it, you would have already been processing it for some time,” she said. “Then you get all of the reaction from everybody, but then you’ve actually been dealing with it behind the scenes.”

The couple, who share two daughters, Grace and Ellie, were together for over two decades after tying the knot at Claridge’s in 2002. Gary, once a top exec at Sony and now running his own PR agency, The Corporation Group, remains a big part of Jane’s life, reported the Express.

“I’m lucky that we managed to do it as amicably as possible,” she said, acknowledging that living under the same roof during lockdown wasn’t always easy. “Obviously, there were moments where we would have some tense conversations because we were still living together, and a lot of it was during lockdown.”

But in a surprising twist, she said the lockdown actually helped: “In a way, lockdown was quite good for us because you’re just there together and you can have organic conversations.”

Describing the slow drift that led to their decision, Jane said, “We kind of withered on the vine. We were sort of pulling the rug out over a long period together. It was a mutual thing.”

At first, they considered a separation but quickly realised it made more sense to move forward with the divorce. “You think, what’s the point? Because at some point you’ve got to do all the paperwork, so you might as well just jump off the cliff and do it.”

Luckily, changes in the law made things smoother. “You could apply online, a bit like applying for a passport,” she joked, explaining how she filled out the form and her ex got the email notification while they were still under the same roof.

When she first shared the news with Loose Women viewers, she joked about the delay: “He fell and broke his leg, and, no, I didn’t push him. Just want to put that out there.” Despite everything, Jane said: “I would hope he would say I’m his best friend… We’re still going to do Christmas together.”
