Husband Faces Murder Charges Following Discovery of Wife’s Death at Family Home
0A tragic incident unfolded in Histon, Cambridge, where a husband, Robert Hammond, aged 47, has been charged with the murder of his wife, Sian Hammond, aged 46. Sian, a mother of two teen daughters, was found dead at their family home on October 30. The couple shared a large detached house in Histon.
Robert Hammond appeared at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court for a brief hearing. During the proceedings, the financial expert confirmed his name, address, and age. The court remanded him into custody, scheduling the next appearance at Cambridge Crown Court on December 11, told The Sun.
The discovery of Sian’s death prompted a police response to the family home. Tributes have since poured in for the “beloved” mortgage broker, who had achieved a BSc Honours degree in biochemistry.
Sian was not only a devoted mother but also the Principal and Director of Lime Tree Financial Services. Colleagues at the company expressed deep sorrow, describing her as a “friend to many.” In a statement, Lime Tree Financial Services said, “Everyone who knew her would agree Sian was one of the friendliest people you could have the pleasure of meeting, and she will be sorely missed by many.”
Acknowledging the profound impact of Sian’s loss on their team, the company requested understanding from the community during this challenging time. They assured that funeral arrangements would be communicated as they come to terms with the tragedy.
The scheduled court appearance on December 11 will likely provide more insights into the circumstances surrounding Sian Hammond’s untimely death, as the community mourns the loss of a cherished individual and colleague.
