Prince Harry’s Easter Mistake Left William and Kate Fuming

Prince Harry has lifted the lid on yet another awkward moment with Prince William and Princess Kate – and this time, it’s all to do with Easter eggs. The revelation comes from his memoir Spare, where he details a tense gathering in 2018, well before he and Meghan stepped back from Royal life.

At the time, the Sussexes had invited William and Kate over to their Nottingham Cottage home in an effort to ease tensions between Meghan and Kate. Things had reportedly been frosty from the start, with Meghan feeling misunderstood and Kate apparently thinking Meghan was after her fashion contacts. “But Meg had her own,” Harry wrote.

Trying to clear the air, Meghan gently raised the awkwardness between the couples. Harry recalled, “Meg then acknowledged the tension among the four of us and ventured that it might go back to those early days when she’d first joined the family”, reported the Daily Record.

As if wedding drama and misunderstandings weren’t enough, another unexpected issue came up – missing Easter gifts. “Willy and Kate were apparently upset that we hadn’t given them Easter presents,” Harry said. “Easter presents? Was that a thing? Willy and I had never exchanged Easter presents.”

Still, he and Meghan apologised, even though they were confused by the whole thing. He added that the wedding hadn’t been drama-free either, revealing the couple were miffed that William and Kate had swapped their place cards around. “We’d followed the American tradition, placing couples next to each other, but Willy and Kate didn’t like that tradition,” Harry wrote. “So their table was the only one where spouses were apart.”

Fast forward to now, and the royal rift seems deeper than ever. Despite Harry being back in the UK this week for a court hearing over his security rights, there’s been no reunion with his brother or father. King Charles was just miles away before flying to Italy for engagements, but the two didn’t meet.

Harry’s currently back in court, fighting for state-backed security after losing his case against the Home Office last year. His legal team says he’s been unfairly treated compared to other royals, arguing he and Meghan were “forced” to give up their duties due to a lack of protection.

It’s now been 14 months since Harry last saw his father in person, and it seems any Easter egg disputes are the least of the Royal Family’s worries these days.
