Harry Ready to Reconcile, But Charles and William Are Resisting,” Says Royal Commentator

Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, is reportedly ready to reconcile with the Royal Family, but his efforts are being met with resistance from King Charles and Prince William, according to a prominent royal commentator. The relationship between Harry, his wife Meghan Markle, and the rest of the Windsors has been strained since the couple stepped back from their royal duties and made a series of allegations against the Firm in their Netflix docu-series, Harry’s memoir “Spare,” and various TV interviews.

Jennie Bond, the BBC’s former royal correspondent, spoke to Times Radio about the current state of affairs within the Royal Family. When asked who is hampering efforts at reconciliation between the Duke of Sussex and the Windsors, Bond stated that it doesn’t appear to be coming from Harry’s side. “Early on it was Harry, who was demanding an apology,” she explained, adding that there would be no meeting of minds until there was an apology for the perceived affronts made to his wife, Meghan, told by Express.

However, Bond believes that the tables have turned somewhat in recent times. “Messages coming from Harry’s side are that he’s ready at least to forgive and that he loves his family. He’s said that quite publicly. He wants to see more of them,” she revealed. Despite Harry’s apparent willingness to mend fences, it seems that King Charles and Prince William are the ones resisting reconciliation at this point.

When questioned about whether this stance aligns with what is known about Prince William’s character, Bond suggested that once the Prince of Wales has set his mind on something, it would be very hard to dissuade him. She expressed hope that as the years go by, there will be a reconciliation, acknowledging that time can be a healer but can also lead to people feeling entrenched in their positions.

The comments from Bond come in the wake of Harry’s recent visit to London for the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, during which he saw neither his brother nor his father. The lack of interaction between the Duke of Sussex and his closest family members during this trip has further fueled speculation about the ongoing rift within the Royal Family.

The relationship between Harry and the Windsors has been tense since he and Meghan Markle gave up their royal roles and publicly shared their grievances through various media outlets. The couple’s accusations against the Royal Family have undoubtedly contributed to the current state of affairs, making the road to reconciliation a challenging one.

As the situation stands, it appears that while Prince Harry is ready to extend an olive branch and forgive, King Charles and Prince William are not yet prepared to reciprocate. The monarch and the heir to the throne seem to be holding on to their grievances, making it difficult for the family to move forward and heal the wounds of the past.

Royal experts and the public alike will be closely watching the developments within the Royal Family, hoping for a resolution to the ongoing feud. However, with both sides seemingly entrenched in their positions, it may take a significant amount of time and effort to bridge the gap and bring about a genuine reconciliation.
