Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s photographer hits back at editing claims

Photographer of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Hits Back at Editing Allegations Amidst Kate Middleton Controversy

Following the scrutiny surrounding Kate Middleton’s edited photograph, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle found themselves embroiled in similar controversy, with claims emerging that their pregnancy photo had been ‘doctored.’

Misan Harriman, the photographer behind the Sussexes’ pregnancy shoot, took to Instagram to refute these allegations, addressing reports from The Telegraph and Daily Mail.

In a video statement, Harriman expressed his disappointment with the false claims, particularly referencing a podcast interview where he was asked about the setting of the shoot. He clarified that his response was to a leading question posed by the interviewer and not an admission of image manipulation.

Highlighting the importance of responsible journalism, Harriman emphasized that any mention of meadows and willow trees in the interview did not come from him directly. He demanded an apology from the outlets and shared the original photo of the couple.

The controversy arose after Page Six quoted an insider suggesting that Harry and Meghan would have faced severe backlash akin to Kate’s if they had edited their images similarly. Kate had previously admitted to editing her Mother’s Day photo, which had been withdrawn by four top photo agencies.

Harriman’s statement serves as a staunch defense against the allegations, shedding light on the complexities of media portrayal and emphasizing the need for accurate reporting.
