0Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Express Frustration Over Growing Popularity of Prince William and Kate Middleton in the US”
Royal expert Sarah Hewson, the royal editor of Talk TV, has claimed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly “angry” over the increasing popularity of Prince William and Kate Middleton in the US. According to Hewson, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex risk being “isolated” if the Waleses continue to expand their brand trans-Atlantic ally.
Hewson told the Sun that Prince William, the heir to the throne, has garnered a “whole army of female fans” following Harry’s revelations in “Spare,” while Kate “looks like a queen in waiting.” Despite initial concerns about how the American public might respond to these revelations, polling suggests that they are siding with Kate and William.
“When William was in America, he was right at the top of the polls, even beating homegrown leaders like Joe Biden and Donald Trump. He has really raised his profile as a global statesman — this week wooing crowds in Singapore — and now has a whole army of female fans after he waded around in his boots in the Hudson River,” said Hewson.
She added, “The Americans love her. So I do think there will be a sense of frustration from Harry and Meghan seeing all of this play out. I think they will be feeling isolated and I think they will be angry.”
The report notes that the Waleses’ rising popularity received a significant boost after they appointed Dame Pippa Harris, a top Hollywood producer, as the director of their Royal Foundation. Harris, known for her work on the Oscar-nominated film “Revolutionary Road” and as the executive producer of the hit BBC series “Call the Midwife,” will also serve as the director of the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund Trustee Company.
Recent sources told Closer magazine that the Sussexes are “fuming” over William and Kate’s star-studded connections in the US. An insider revealed, “You’d be surprised how many big stars reached out to William and Kate to let them know they have their support amid this feud with Harry and Meghan.”
PR expert Andy Barr suggested that the Sussexes might be “jealous” of William and Kate’s advantage in submitting a trademark application in the US, indicating potential doors opening for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in the States.
