Prince Harry, Meghan Markle spotted trick or treating with Archie, Lilibet
0Montecito, California – November 3, 2023: Despite their bustling lives, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle always carve out time for cherished family moments. This Halloween was no exception, as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were seen embracing the trick-or-treating tradition with their children, Archie and Lilibet, in the scenic neighborhood of Montecito, California.
On the morning following Halloween, a heartwarming clip circulated on the social media platform X, previously known as Twitter. In this footage, the family can be seen wandering from house to house, their laughter echoing through the tranquil Californian streets. Archie, now four years old, donned a mischievous skeleton costume, causing giggles and smiles from neighbors. Meanwhile, two-year-old Lilibet looked absolutely charming in her pink ensemble, which resembled a blooming flower or perhaps a fairy, as many fans online speculated.
Interestingly, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle chose to keep their costumes subdued this year. Instead of elaborate disguises, they wore matching casual outfits—dark-toned T-shirts with blue jeans. Adding a dash of sportiness, both opted for sneakers and baseball caps. However, Prince Harry, never one to be completely left out of the festivities, added a touch of Halloween spirit by taking charge of Lilibet’s pumpkin-shaped basket. At one point, the little princess seemed to tire from the excitement, and Meghan was seen cradling her in a sweet embrace, told Express.
Yet, as many royal observers noted, the journey of the Sussexes celebrating Halloween has seen its share of memorable moments. During an engaging conversation with Ellen DeGeneres in 2021, Meghan reminisced about a particularly amusing Halloween episode. She had recounted, “We were home and saw you guys [DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi]. We wanted to create a fun experience for the kids, but they weren’t having any of it.” She laughed as she remembered Archie’s fleeting commitment to his dinosaur costume, saying, “He was a dinosaur, but only for about five minutes.”
Ellen had humorously interjected, “Not even five minutes, I’d say!” To which Meghan responded with a chuckle, recalling how Harry had coaxed Archie into wearing at least part of the costume. She had also mentioned Lilibet’s endearing outfit choice that year, describing her as resembling the adorable skunk, Flower, from the classic animation, ‘Bambi’.
For many, the recent glimpse into the Sussex family’s Halloween escapade served as a heartwarming reminder of the importance of family traditions. It also showcased the Duke and Duchess’s efforts to maintain a semblance of normalcy for their children, despite their global stature and the consistent media spotlight. As the years progress, it will be heartening to see how the Sussexes continue to weave their tapestry of traditions, blending their royal heritage with the new memories they’re creating in California.
