Prince Harry Refutes Claims of Blocking King Charles’ Birthday Gift to Archie
Prince Harry has recently countered allegations suggesting that he and Meghan Markle are obstructing King Charles III from presenting a unique birthday gift to their son, Archie. Reports had surfaced that the King wished to give his grandson a bespoke shepherd’s hut worth approximately £18,000, similar to one he had gifted to Prince George, Prince William’s son, via OK!.
Royal expert Tom Quinn disclosed that the proposed gift was intended to be a playhouse equipped with bunks and bookshelves, aiming to show equal affection towards all his grandchildren. However, according to Quinn, Meghan desires for Archie to have American-centric birthday associations, potentially due to Archie’s growing curiosity about his royal heritage in the UK.
“Charles also suggested that he give Archie a playhouse not a plastic child’s playhouse, but a superb hand-made shepherd’s hut, complete with bunks and bookshelves. Charles hates the idea that Harry might think he favours one grandchild over another and he has already given Prince George a similar hut which reputedly cost a cool £18,000,” Quinn told The Mirror.
Quinn further elaborated on the concerns supposedly held by Meghan: “He would love to give Archie something similar but knows that Meghan and Harry are against it. Meghan wants Archie to associate his birthday with all things American because Archie is already constantly asking about his royal family in the UK. Archie loves the idea that his grandad lives in a castle and Meghan is worried that a magnificent shepherd’s hut or similar extravagant present will only increase Archie’s growing interest in his royal connections.”
Despite these claims, a source close to the Sussexes has strongly denied these assertions, maintaining that such reports are unfounded. This rebuttal comes as Prince Harry visits the UK to mark the ten-year anniversary of the Invictus Games, an event highlighting the achievements of wounded, injured, and sick servicemen and women. Notably, Meghan and their children, Archie and Lilibet, did not accompany him on this trip.
