Jennie Bond Defends Prince Harry, Cites Commitment to Family

A seasoned Royal expert has backed Prince Harry’s claims of happiness with Meghan Markle, shutting down persistent divorce rumors and urging the public to respect their privacy.

Jennie Bond, a respected Royal pundit and former BBC correspondent, spoke in defense of Harry, describing him as “damaged” by his traumatic past but steadfast in his commitment to his family. Addressing speculation surrounding Harry and Meghan’s marriage, Bond told OK! Magazine: “He says he is happy. I believe him. Let’s stop trying to make trouble in a marriage we know nothing about.”

At a recent literary event in New York City, Prince Harry dismissed ongoing rumors with humor. “Apparently we’ve bought or moved house 10, 12 times. We’ve apparently divorced maybe 10, 12 times as well. So it’s just like, what?” he quipped while acknowledging the toll constant media attention takes. “It’s hard to keep up with,” he admitted, reported by the Mirror.

Bond pointed to Harry’s personal struggles, particularly the tragic loss of his mother, Princess Diana, as a driving force behind his protective nature. “Harry is stubborn. And he is also understandably damaged by what happened to his mother,” she explained. “Who can blame him for being so protective about his wife and children?”

She also empathized with Harry’s frustrations over media scrutiny and online trolling. “I have some sympathy with his despair about the media… and social media in particular, with the trolls who peddle unsourced nonsensical rubbish about his marriage.”

Bond emphasized the need to step back and respect Harry and Meghan’s private life, reinforcing her belief in the Duke’s sincerity.

Harry’s ongoing security concerns have further fueled tensions with the Royal Family. Having served in Afghanistan, Harry’s worries are understandable, yet his recent travels to Nigeria and Colombia with Meghan have sparked criticism. Bond acknowledged this contradiction but pointed to Harry’s determination, particularly in challenging the Home Office’s decision to withdraw his UK security.

In his legal battle, Harry has spoken candidly about his fears. “All it takes is one lone actor, one person who read this stuff, to act on what they have read, and whether that is a knife or acid… they are genuine concerns for me, they are one of the reasons I won’t bring my wife back to this country [the UK].”

Despite relentless speculation, Jennie Bond’s words highlight a call for empathy, urging people to believe Harry when he says he is happy—and to stop fanning the flames of unwarranted rumors.
