Good Morning Britain Star Speaks Out Amid Fears He Was ‘Fired’

British comedian and television presenter Adil Ray has finally addressed his fans after being absent from Good Morning Britain for several weeks. The 50-year-old reassured viewers that he will be returning to the ITV programme this Friday, alongside Kate Garraway, after receiving numerous questions about his whereabouts.

Taking to Instagram, Adil wrote: “A few people (ok maybe two) asking where I’ve been for the past few weeks. One even asked if I’d been fired! Not that I know of! I am back on this Friday with Kate and the team and next Friday too. Get it in your diaries! Dec 13 & 20. 6am. I expect you all there by 7am latest with a nice cuppa. Thank you!”

Many of his followers were delighted to hear the news of his return. One fan shared, “Glad you’re back! I enjoy your natural presenting ways on GMB, especially your banter with Laura Tobin.” Another commented, “Yay, I missed you! Love you and Kate working together.” A third follower wrote, “Thank goodness for that, was getting worried about you”, according to the Express.

Since Ben Shephard’s departure earlier this year, Adil has been hosting Good Morning Britain on Fridays, rotating alongside Kate, Laura Tobin, or Charlotte Hawkins. The change came after Ben secured a coveted spot on This Morning earlier this year, co-hosting with Cat Deeley.

Adil’s time on the show has been filled with memorable moments, including a surprising revelation earlier this year when Kaos actress Janet McTeer, 63, spoke about her role alongside Jeff Goldblum. She proudly declared that she is “owning” her age, which left Adil momentarily lost for words. “Amazing,” he responded, before Janet added, “I am owning every year of it.”

Fans can now look forward to seeing Adil return to the Good Morning Britain desk this Friday, continuing his role as a beloved Friday host.
