GMB Fans Outraged & ‘Switch Off’ Over Meghan Markle Coverage—Viewers Had Enough!

Viewers of Good Morning Britain have expressed their frustration with the ITV breakfast show, with many claiming they have stopped watching after the latest segment on Meghan Markle’s new Netflix series, With Love, Meghan.

During Wednesday’s episode, hosts Susanna Reid and Ed Balls were joined by showbiz editor Richard Arnold to discuss the Duchess of Sussex’s new lifestyle show. The program featured a clip of Meghan preparing a colorful fruit board in her kitchen, carefully arranging strawberries, kiwis, oranges, and blueberries into a rainbow shape, according to the Express.

However, rather than focusing on the content of the show, the GMB panel poked fun at the clip, with Arnold introducing a spoof segment called With Love, From Dickie. He then unveiled his version of a fruit board, which included a single banana, tomatoes, cornflakes, and apples, prompting laughter from the studio.

Reid giggled as she made a sarcastic comment about the elaborate fruit display, quipping that it used to just be called “fruit salad” before social media trends gave it a fancier name.

While the hosts seemed amused, many viewers at home were not impressed by what they perceived as unnecessary mockery of the Duchess of Sussex. Fans took to the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to voice their frustration, with some even announcing they were switching off the show entirely.

One frustrated viewer posted, “Does anyone actually still watch GMB?” while another declared, “@GMB I watch GB News now in the mornings, #GMB is rubbish.”

This is not the first time Good Morning Britain has faced backlash over its coverage of Meghan Markle. The show has been repeatedly criticized for its tone when discussing the Duchess, with some accusing ITV of fueling negative narratives about her.

With audience members now openly declaring their move to rival channels, GMB may need to reconsider its approach if it hopes to retain its morning viewers. Despite the backlash, ITV has yet to respond to complaints about the segment.
