Good Morning Britain viewers threaten to Switch Off over Hosts

Good Morning Britain viewers weren’t holding back on Monday morning as a surprise presenter line-up triggered a flurry of complaints—and even caused some to switch off altogether.
With regular host Susanna Reid currently on a break, the show saw Charlotte Hawkins join Richard Madeley on the sofa, while Marverine Cole handled the news updates. The pair tackled big stories of the day, including Angela Rayner’s controversial call for the Army to deal with Birmingham’s bin crisis, ongoing concerns over the future of British Steel, and the latest gossip from Celebrity Big Brother, reported the Express.

But despite the headline topics, it was the hosting duo that sparked the most drama online. Many fans weren’t thrilled to see Richard back, and they made their feelings very clear on social media.
“Turn on #GMB, see who is presenting, and turn off. Absolute s*** show,” one unimpressed viewer raged. Another added, “Which is why I decided to stop watching #GMB. Not good for my blood pressure.”
“Good god Richard’s back with Charlotte, time to switch off,” a third wrote, while someone else simply said, “I can’t do it anymore”, reports Manchester Evening News.
Others were even more blunt: “Not this week thanks. Can’t watch Madeley,” with another describing the broadcast as “chaos.”
Still, not everyone was upset. One fan praised the duo, writing, “Richard is so much better than Ed and Charlotte is an absolute delight. She needs to be given this job full time like Sian should be given full time on #ThisMorning.”
Susanna Reid had already announced earlier this month that she’d be taking a short break from the show to spend time with family. “See you in a couple of weeks, I’m going to go and spend some time off,” she told viewers before passing the baton to Lorraine Kelly.
In the meantime, GMB has been rotating its line-up with familiar faces like Kate Garraway, Ranvir Singh, and now Charlotte stepping in. But with Richard Madeley’s return clearly splitting opinion, fans are left wondering what’s next for the breakfast show—and who they’ll be waking up to tomorrow.
