Family Feud Contestants Struggle to Name Facts About Prince Harry Beyond Meghan

The Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry, recently found himself the subject of a question on the popular U.S. game show Family Feud, where contestants were asked to name the six most well-known facts about him. However, responses were limited, with most participants only identifying Harry as “married to Meghan.”

Royal expert Ingrid Seward shared her perspective on the segment with The Sun, observing that Harry’s public image in the U.S. has shifted. “People in the US are just poking fun at him now. They don’t like him,” she commented, suggesting that Harry and Meghan’s visibility in American media has made them somewhat of a lighthearted target.

This isn’t the first time Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle have been satirized in American pop culture. In a February 2023 episode of the animated show South Park, the couple was humorously portrayed carrying large signs requesting privacy, even as they continued to make public appearances. The episode left fans laughing at the couple’s apparent contradiction between seeking privacy and staying in the media spotlight.

Seward added that the couple “seem to be hitting the sort of humiliation TV button” and suggested that the public’s view of Harry has become rather dismissive. “I think it’s quite hurtful for him to be regarded as a sort of figure of fun. But in America, they see him as a guy that just doesn’t do anything. They don’t see the point of him.”

The expert also noted that she wasn’t surprised by Americans’ limited knowledge of Prince Harry beyond his connection to Meghan, hinting that the U.S. audience might find it challenging to appreciate his previous royal duties or achievements. According to Seward, Harry’s identity in American media now seems firmly linked to his marriage, overshadowing his other accomplishments and causes.

The episode reflects a broader shift in Harry’s image as he navigates life outside the royal family, and the Family Feud segment highlights how American perceptions of the Duke and Duchess continue to evolve. Whether regarded with humor or curiosity, Prince Harry and Meghan remain prominent figures in the American cultural landscape, albeit not always in the ways they might intend.
