EastEnders Fans in Hysterics as Billy Mitchell Gets Scolded for ‘Swearing’ ‘There’s No Need to Swear’

EastEnders viewers were left in stitches on Tuesday’s episode when Billy Mitchell was hilariously scolded for ‘swearing’ in a comedic mix-up, told Metro UK.

In Monday’s episode, Stevie Mitchell, accused of stealing money from Lola Pearce’s charity fund, set out to clear his name by uncovering the real culprit. Suspecting his grandson Will Mitchell, who had been blackmailed, Stevie grilled him at the café. A panicked Will deflected suspicion, accusing Gina Knight, citing her addiction struggles. Stevie then confronted Gina, which angered her family, leading to her estranged brother Junior throwing Stevie out of the pub.

Later, Stevie pressed Will again to confess, but in a desperate moment, Will knocked Stevie over and fled, leaving him unconscious.

Tuesday’s episode picked up with Will running to the playground, where Phil Mitchell found him after noticing the house door open and discovering a lifeless Stevie inside. Meanwhile, Will’s oblivious parents, Billy and Honey Mitchell, spotted their son at the playground and praised him for standing up for his grandfather amid the theft allegations.

During this heartfelt moment, Billy’s phone rang, and he exclaimed, “King Phil!” Honey, misunderstanding, thought Billy had sworn and scolded him: “Okay, Billy, enough, there’s no need to swear, alright?!” Billy quickly clarified, “No, I didn’t. I meant King Phil, as in he’s King of the Mitchell family.” Phil had called to inform Billy about Stevie’s condition and that he had been rushed to the hospital.

Viewers took to Twitter, now X, to share their amusement over the scene. One user wrote, “‘Because your king Mitchell’ haha Billy. #EastEnders,” accompanied by laughing emojis. Another commented, “King Mitchell.. line brilliant…,” while a third added, “OK Billy enough, there’s no need to swear. I b****y love @Sharontweet comedic writing #EastEnders.”

The mix-up provided a lighthearted moment in an otherwise tense storyline, showcasing the show’s ability to blend humor with drama. Fans were delighted by the comedic exchange, highlighting the skillful writing and character interactions that make EastEnders a beloved staple on British television.
