Eamonn Holmes Left ‘Embarrassed’ After Slamming Davina McCall’s ‘Disgraceful’ See-Through BRITs Dress

Eamonn Holmes took a sharp swipe at Davina McCall’s bold fashion choice at the BRIT Awards, sparking debate over her daring outfit. The Big Brother legend stunned fans as she graced the red carpet in a striking black lace maxi dress, showcasing her enviable figure. The event marked one of her first public appearances since undergoing brain surgery in November, according to the Daily Record.
Reflecting on her outfit decision, Davina explained her reasoning while on the red carpet. “I just thought, how disgraceful can I look? I’m growing old disgracefully. I thought, what should I do? And I thought go see-through.”
However, Eamonn Holmes was less than impressed by her revealing ensemble. Hosting Breakfast with Eamonn and Ellie alongside co-host Ellie Costello on Monday, he discussed the weekend’s major events, including the 2025 Oscars. When the topic turned to the BRITs, Eamonn expressed his discomfort with Davina’s attire, admitting he felt “embarrassed.”
“I was quite embarrassed by that. I was with Davina, with her the night before, having dinner. I couldn’t look at her the same way,” Eamonn remarked, as reported by the Mirror. Dawn Neesom, also on the show, humorously questioned: “She was wearing more than that when you were having dinner, hopefully?” To which Eamonn replied: “She was. She was. She was in love with life.”

Suzan Holder, another panelist, interjected, emphasizing that the most important thing was Davina’s recovery. “That’s fantastic. The fact that she’s well. As I say, she looks great. That is what she will tell you. It’s empowering. I want to do this. That’s fine. But I know people who work in telly and women who work in television.”
Although she was hesitant to criticize, Suzan suggested it was unfortunate that Davina felt the need to make such a statement. “Davina McCall, who looks great, she’s perfectly decent. She’s wearing a sheer dress over a bra and pants. She looks great. She’s been through a lot. I don’t want to criticize another woman, but to me, you need to look like, she’s in the paper because she’s competing with those other women. That’s what she’s doing there. It’s a shame she feels she needs to do that.”
Davina has been open about her health struggles, previously sharing details of her 14mm benign tumor, known as a colloid cyst. Discussing the emotional toll, she admitted: “I felt like this thing had taken control of me and I was so angry about that. I couldn’t let it go, I was like, ‘How dare you control my daily life like this and make me feel every day like I’m in danger?'”
On her podcast Begin Again, Davina further expressed frustration with misconceptions about benign tumours. “I have had so many people say to me: ‘Well, at least it was benign.’ And you think: ‘You have no idea that benign brain tumours can still kill you.’ It’s just, you don’t know when it’s going to happen. It could happen tomorrow, it could happen in years’ time. It’s different to cancer, but it is also awful. A benign does not mean fine.”
While opinions on her daring BRITs look remain divided, Davina McCall remains steadfast in her mission to embrace life on her own terms.
