Princess Diana’s Family Stands by Prince Harry Amid Royal Feud
0The late Princess Diana’s family are standing by Prince Harry amidst his ongoing rift with the Royal Family, claims a former royal butler. Harry, known as the Duke of Sussex, has been at odds with The Firm after making a series of explosive allegations against them. Due to this strained relationship, he didn’t convene with the royals during his recent UK visit.
However, Earl Charles Spencer and Lady Jane Fellowes, Diana’s siblings, have reportedly supported him. Earl Spencer took a pledge to be there for Harry during his sister’s funeral, when he stated then that Diana’s “blood family” would always protect Harry and his elder brother, Prince William, “spiritually and emotionally.”
During his recent London visit, Harry did not interact with any member of the Royal Family. There were whispers about him planning to see his father, King Charles, but the monarch was reported to be too occupied to meet his son.
Additionally, Harry made no arrangements to get together with his now-estranged brother, William. Ex-royal butler Paul Burrell expressed that Diana “would be devastated” if she knew the extent of the royal feud.
In his chat with Bella Magazine, Paul revealed that the feud probably wouldn’t have initiated had Diana been alive. He explained, “She would have seen this starting and she would have stopped it.”
He further commented, “She would have made Harry apologize to Charles, and Diana would have been the broker of that – she was always the peacemaker. She wanted the four of them to stay together.”
“It broke her heart when that disintegrated. She would have predicted that once that disintegrated, William and Harry would have had problems of their own and that has come true.”
However, without Diana here to intervene, Paul believes “it’s a lost cause.”
Royal commentator Tom Quinn has suggested that Earl Spencer and Lady Jane Fellowes have demonstrated “where their loyalties lie” after they attended Harry’s Invictus Games event earlier this month. Speaking to The Mirror previously, he said, “The Spencer family have always felt uncomfortable with the Royal Family after the death of Harry and William’s mother. Earl Spencer, Diana’s brother, was openly critical of the way the Royal Family treated his sister, and of course that criticism largely centered on Prince Charles (as he then was).”
Tom stated there is “still a lot of bitterness around” and said Spencer’s decision to support Harry was significant. The expert told us, “The fact that the Spencers were out in force for Harry on this visit speaks volumes about where their loyalties lie. Like Harry, the Spencers still see the Royal Family, to some extent, as the enemy.”
During his time in London, Harry attended a commemorative event held at St. Paul’s Cathedral to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, an international competition for wounded or injured servicemen and women that he helped establish as founding patron in 2014. Despite the absence of his wife, Meghan Markle, who did not accompany him on this trip, the support from his mother’s family was a poignant reminder of the late princess’s enduring legacy.
