Danny Jones’ Emotional Moment on I’m A Celebrity Sparks Heartfelt Response from His Sister

I’m A Celebrity star and McFly musician Danny Jones received heartfelt support from his sister, Vix Wright-Jones, after sharing his struggles with anxiety on Wednesday’s emotional episode.

On Thursday’s edition of Lorraine, Vix discussed her brother’s vulnerable moment with host Lorraine Kelly. Reflecting on his candidness, Vix said, “It was really nice to see that side to him, to see a more vulnerable side. You always see this party kind of character. He is that he totally is that—he’s the life and soul—but yeah, I was really proud of him for that.”

During Wednesday’s show, Danny revealed the significance behind his wrist tattoo, which bears the phrase “Don’t worry, be happy.” He admitted the tattoo reflects his ongoing struggle with worry. “It’s because I’m always constantly worrying, but that’s what I’m working on,” he said too, reports the Express.

When Loose Women panelist Jane Moore asked if he’d sought therapy, Danny responded, “Yeah, I’ve been in therapy since I was 19 for anxiety.” He then shared a traumatic experience of having a panic attack during a live television interview.

Recalling the incident, Danny said, “I was freaking out and I couldn’t answer the question that got asked to me. Then it started happening in my work. I felt like a camera had gone above me, I had this white-out like I was going to puke, heart rate went crazy.” When Jane asked if his anxiety stemmed from childhood, Danny became emotional, admitting, “I think I escaped a lot.”

Danny’s vulnerability moved his fellow campmates. Tulisa Contostavlos, observing from the Bush Telegraph, remarked, “We’re seeing a lot of emotion coming out of Danny, which is beautiful.” Despite feeling like a burden, Danny expressed gratitude to his campmates for their support. “Every time I talk about it, it’s so much easier,” he said tearfully. Tulisa reassured him, saying, “Rule number one, no apologizing for crying in camp.”

Danny elaborated on the catharsis of sharing his feelings, adding, “Everything is heightened in here. I feel like a burden sometimes, like you don’t wanna hear about my story, but I felt it was so important to speak to someone.” Tulisa encouraged him, saying, “It’s really good to let it out and really brave to be vulnerable. People respect it.” Danny’s openness has resonated with viewers and his family, with many praising him for shedding light on the importance of mental health awareness.
