Coleen Nolan Left Mortified as Son’s Savage Message Exposed Live on Loose Women
Coleen Nolan found herself blushing on Tuesday’s episode of Loose Women after her son, Shane Nolan, sent in a cheeky on-air message that left the studio in stitches.
During a light-hearted discussion about whether parents should show affection in front of their children, Coleen, 59, admitted she’s not a fan of public displays of affection. But things took an unexpected turn when co-host Ruth Langsford revealed that she had just received a text from Coleen’s 35-year-old son, Shane, told OK! Magazine.
With a mischievous grin, Ruth announced, “Interestingly, I’ve just had a message come in from Shane…” Coleen’s face quickly turned crimson as she reacted with an “Oh no!” Ruth continued reading the message aloud: “He says, ‘Tell Mum, what are you talking about? You’re constantly kissing Michael, and it makes me want to vomit!'”
The studio audience and fellow panelists were left in hysterics, while Coleen, embarrassed but laughing, quickly defended herself. “Oh no, I’m not!” she exclaimed, adding, “He’s just winding me up, and I’m so gonna kill him when I see him!”
When asked by the panel if there was any truth to Shane’s claim, Coleen firmly denied it, repeatedly saying “No, no!” even as Ruth playfully pointed out her blushing cheeks. According to The Mirror, Coleen added humorously, “A kiss on the lips, sure, but we won’t stand there snogging the face off each other—it makes me sick!” She also took a playful jab at her son’s viewing habits, quipping, “He watches Loose Women every day—he needs to get a life!”
Coleen, who divorced her second husband Ray Fensome in 2018, found love again in 2021 with Michael Jones after a stint on Tinder, encouraged by fellow Loose Women star Brenda Edwards. Reflecting on how she met Michael, Coleen previously shared with The Mirror, “I was on Tinder with Brenda—she swiped right for me. I just said, ‘Oh, he looks nice,’ and then he messaged me, and it just went from there.”
Despite having been married twice before, Coleen hasn’t entirely ruled out the idea of getting married again. Speaking candidly, she admitted, “I do sometimes think it would be lovely,” even though after her second divorce, she wasn’t sure if she’d ever consider marriage again.
Coleen was previously married to EastEnders actor Shane Richie from 1990 to 1999, with whom she shares two sons, Jake and Shane Jr. She later married Ray Fensome in 2007, and the couple had a daughter, Ciara, before divorcing in 2018.
As for her current relationship, it seems Coleen and Michael are doing well—although if Shane’s playful messages are anything to go by, he may still need some time to adjust to seeing his mom in love again!
