Coleen Nolan Breaks Down on Loose Women as She Shares Heartbreaking Family Moment Amid Shock Split

Coleen Nolan has shared a deeply personal moment from her parenting journey, opening up about her child’s first experience with heartbreak on Loose Women. On Monday’s episode of the ITV show, the panel discussed relationship struggles, including the recent breakup of TV personality Fearne Cotton and Jesse Wood. Co-hosts Charlene White, Brenda Edwards, and Gloria Hunniford were with Coleen as they explored the challenges of handling romantic disappointments, especially for young people.

When Charlene asked Coleen about supporting her children through their own relationship troubles, Coleen, 59, from Blackpool, recalled a particularly emotional memory: “When my kids went through it, I remember one time in particular, I went upstairs and one of my kids was just lying on the floor sobbing. And I went and laid down with them and just held them, really.”

She shared that her child was 17 at the time and that they didn’t want to hear comforting advice such as “you know this is probably going to happen ten times, you will get over it”. Instead, Coleen empathized deeply, acknowledging how overwhelming heartbreak can feel at that age.

“I remember going back to that feeling of when my heart was broken and my heart was breaking for them because you don’t want your kids heartbroken,” she said. “But it was a lovely moment between the two of us and I thought, just let them cry and we’ll work it out day by day—however long it takes—and it will ease”, reports the Mirror.

The conversation turned to the importance of support during difficult times, something Coleen emphasized: “It’s important. But you rarely tell people that it might go wrong.”

Last week, Coleen made headlines after revealing her breakup with Michael Jones, her partner of three years. The pair had met on the dating app Tinder in 2021. However, Coleen has since shared that they have decided to part ways but remain good friends.

Speaking to OK! about the split, Coleen explained: “We’ve decided that we would rather just stay friends, take it as a friendship. And, you know, it’s nothing to do with anyone else, it’s nobody’s fault.”

She continued: “But I’m really busy and when I’m not really busy with work I’m busy on the farm and I feel personally that I can’t give time to everything. We still get along great and hopefully we can continue to be friends, who knows?”

Coleen’s candid reflections offer an honest and heartfelt perspective on both her family life and her recent personal changes.
