Christine Lampard Recalls “Worst Night of My Life” on Live TV

Loose Women star Christine Lampard recently shared a television moment that she described as the “worst night of my life.” The mother of two, who has been a familiar face on screens for over two decades, appearing on shows like The One Show and ITV’s This Morning, recently filled in for Lorraine Kelly on Lorraine. However, it was her experience presenting the fundraiser Children in Need that Christine, 45, says was one of her most challenging TV moments.

Speaking to MyWeekly magazine, Christine revealed, “It involved hosting Children in Need many years ago and I had a really bad stomach bug. I was really, really ill and it was dreadful. It was live television and I was running on and off set to be sick. It was just the worst night of my life.”

Christine, married to former England star Frank Lampard, began her presenting career in her native Northern Ireland before joining The One Show with Adrian Chiles in 2007. She has also appeared on ITV’s Daybreak and Dancing on Ice before joining Loose Women as a panelist in 2016, told The Mirror.

Despite the challenging moments, Christine says she thrives on the excitement of live television. “I love it,” she said. “If I could tell my teenage self what she would be doing now, she would not believe it. She would be stunned that Richard Madeley says my name when he does the crossover from Good Morning Britain to Lorraine.”

Christine, who has been well-received by fans while providing holiday cover for Lorraine, often finds herself “pinching” herself when presenting the morning show. She describes Lorraine Kelly as a “complete stalwart of television.”

Christine also shared that she never gets bored of working on screen, and instead of saying she is “going to work,” she opts to say she is “doing Lorraine today or Loose Women.” She considers presenting to be a “real blessing.” The star’s passion for her work and her resilience in the face of live TV challenges highlight her dedication and love for broadcasting, even during the most difficult moments.
