BBC Strictly’s Chris McCausland Demands ‘Best’ From Dianne Buswell as Next Big Move Is Revealed
0Chris McCausland, the first-ever blind contestant on Strictly Come Dancing, has been busy since winning the BBC One dance contest in December 2024. Alongside his partner, professional dancer Dianne Buswell, McCausland triumphed in the 20th-anniversary series of Strictly, beating finalists like Miranda actress Sarah Hadland, Love Island star Tasha Ghouri, and JLS singer JB Gill to claim the coveted Glitterball trophy.
Now, as the couple continues to celebrate their win and prepare for their future projects, Dianne has made a playful demand regarding Chris’s next big move after Strictly—his upcoming memoir. McCausland, 47, has signed with Penguin Michael Joseph to write a memoir, set to be published in autumn 2025.
In a lighthearted comment on his autobiography announcement, Chris shared, “I thought Strictly was terrifying but my book has a release date and I haven’t started writing it yet. Don’t worry, I’m going to start right now. It will be really funny, I promise.”
Dianne, who is preparing for the Strictly Come Dancing Live 2025 tour, couldn’t resist chiming in on social media. In response to Chris’s book update, she wrote, “I best get a special mention @chrismccauslandcomedy.” Her comment quickly sparked a flood of responses from fans, with many suggesting she should have more than just a mention, reported Manchester Evening News.
Some fans joked about her role in the memoir, with one user, @atieboddy132, suggesting, “@diannebuswell or maybe even a chapter.” @shanice96naomi chimed in with, “@diannebuswell you deserve a chapter I think!” While @scooby_who_ replied, “@diannebuswell surely entitled ‘Winning Isn’t Everything’ for the relevant 100 pages?” Another fan, @rachev24, humorously commented, “@diannebuswell ‘guess the title of the autobiography’ doesn’t quite have the same ring as ‘guess the flavour of the KitKat!'”
Despite the playful banter, the memoir is expected to shed light on Chris’s journey, from his time on Strictly to his career as a stand-up comedian. The book will be published by Penguin Random House on October 9, 2025, and McCausland’s fans are already eager to read his story.
With Dianne’s good-natured request and Chris’s witty comments, it’s clear their bond remains strong, and their fans are eagerly awaiting the next chapter of their remarkable journey.
