Loose Women star Charlene White has shared a hilarious behind-the-scenes secret about her co-star Denise Welch. Appearing on Caroline Hirons’ Glad We Had This Chat podcast, Charlene revealed that Denise has a mischievous habit of passing her cheeky notes during live broadcasts of the popular ITV show.
“Denise does a really naughty thing, which I adore her for,” Charlene shared. “We’ll be having a discussion about something or other, and she’ll just be writing something on a piece of paper and slip it over to me live on air”, according to the Mirror.
The notes, Charlene explained, are often filled with inappropriate gossip that catches her off guard. “I might glance down at it, and it will be some inappropriate bit of gossip that she really shouldn’t be telling me. Then I’ve got to keep a straight face, and I’m like, ‘hmmm,’ and carry on talking. Meanwhile, I can see her internally absolutely killing herself laughing,” she said.
Charlene’s candid admission gave fans a glimpse into the lighthearted dynamics among the panelists on Loose Women. The playful moments with Denise seem to be a highlight for Charlene, who joined the show four years ago.
The ITV news presenter also opened up about her journey to becoming a part of Loose Women. Reflecting on her career, Charlene said, “My entire career has sort of been me sat there going, ‘What do I want to do? I want to do this,’ and then I’ll figure out a way to do it.”
Her persistence eventually paid off. “I have wanted to do Loose Women for a while, and so, I’d been pushing it for a while. That pushing finally came off four years ago when I was invited in for a meeting. We had a bit of a chat, and they liked what I had to say,” she explained.
Charlene also expressed her admiration for the long-running talk show, saying, “I just think it’s one of the most incredible shows I’ve ever worked on.”
