Cat Deeley Enjoys Family Break in Saint Tropez Amid Husband’s Health Battle

TV star Cat Deeley is making the most of her time off work, showcasing her incredible figure during a well-deserved break with her family. The This Morning host, 47, looked decades younger as she enjoyed a dip in the sea and a walk along the beach in Saint Tropez, France, with her husband, fellow TV presenter Patrick Kielty, 53.

Cat, who married Patrick in 2012, cut a glamorous figure in a two-piece green bikini, flaunting her toned abs and long legs. The mum-of-two, who is currently on a summer break from This Morning duties, accessorized with necklaces and simple gold hoops.

During their day at the beach, Cat and Patrick appeared very much in love, soaking up the sun while standing in the sea. The couple couldn’t keep their hands off each other, with Irish comedian Patrick wrapping his arms around his wife’s waist, told The Sun.

Their sunny getaway comes just weeks after Cat opened up about Patrick’s health issues on This Morning. In June, Cat received a wave of support from viewers after revealing Patrick’s painful battle with shingles on the ITV show. Co-hosting with Ben Shephard, Cat discussed the impact of shingles, especially for those over 50. Patrick, a popular host of RTE’s Late Late Show, initially dismissed his symptoms as a side effect of their house renovations. Cat explained: “He thought he’d touched his face.

He’d got this burning, tingling, stinging sensation, so that’s what he thought it was.” Medical expert Dr. Sara Kayat detailed the classic symptoms, including a tingling, burning sensation, fatigue, headaches, and possibly a fever. Cat elaborated, “A few days later, you can start to develop a blotchy rash and then that develops into fluid-filled blisters, which start to crust over and scab away.”

She added a personal touch, noting, “[Patrick] has got them on his face, actually!” Dr. Sara explained that shingles can appear anywhere on the body, including sensitive areas like the eyes and genitals. Cat and Ben signed off from This Morning for the summer last month, announcing they would be away from the famous blue sofa until September to enjoy a summer break with their families. The duo, who took over from Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, began hosting the show in March and have appeared four times a week since then.

Friday favorites Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary kicked off the summer shows on July 15, with a mix of familiar daytime family members continuing to host. This includes Josie Gibson, Craig Doyle, Rylan Clark, Rochelle Humes, Joel Dommett, and new mum Sian Welby returning after welcoming her daughter Ruby.

Cat and Patrick first met at Fame Academy in 2002 and have been together ever since Patrick made a grand romantic gesture by flying to LA to surprise Cat for lunch. Patrick reminisced about the trip during a Valentine’s special on Ireland’s Late Late Show, saying: “I followed my heart all the way to Los Angeles to surprise my now wife for lunch. Twelve years and two kids later, I think it worked out.”

Cat has also shared details about their romance. During a 2020 chat on Ireland’s The Late Late Show with Ryan Tubridy, she recalled how Patrick charmed his way into her heart. “We had been friends for a very, very long time,” she said. Cat reminisced about their annual catch-ups and a memorable phone call the day before her birthday, which led to Patrick flying to LA to be with her.

Cat revealed: “He was at the Maghera Inn in Ireland at three in the morning and booked a flight to surprise me. I wasn’t sure if he’d actually show up, but he did. It was a wonderful surprise, and here we are, twelve years and two kids later.”
