Carol Kirkwood’s Gloomy Forecast Leaves BBC Breakfast Viewers Fuming

BBC Breakfast’s beloved weather presenter Carol Kirkwood has stirred up a storm of reactions with her latest weather forecast. Despite her usual sunny disposition, Kirkwood took to social media on Tuesday to deliver some unwelcome news about the weather.

Posting on X, formerly known as Twitter, the experienced meteorologist warned her followers of continued dreary conditions. Even though it’s July, the British summer has been anything but bright, with relentless rain and overcast skies.

Carol shared images depicting heavy rainclouds sweeping in from the east, writing: “Heavy rain pushing northwards today. Behind it, there is another area of rain moving eastwards across England..”

However, she did offer a sliver of hope to her followers, noting: “[It’s] brightening up later from the west! Feeling humid in England and Wales @BBCBreakfast xxx.”

The weather maps she posted showed Cardiff as the warmest location in the UK at 21°C, while Newcastle was expected to see a cooler 15°C. Her followers were quick to express their frustration in the comments.

One user remarked, “Good job I’m indoors decorating…” Another added, “Better finish cutting my grass before it comes then.”

On a more positive note, one fan commented, “Morning Carol, not a bad start to the day in Aberdeen but looking ominous for your rain to push north. Let’s hope we can get through most of the day without heavy rain. Have a good day xx.”

Yet, the overall sentiment was one of irritation, with another follower posting an irritated emoji and adding, “Yep, it’s wet all over the British Isles.”

Adding to the gloomy forecast, Carol also issued a pollen level warning to her 254,000 followers, ensuring those with allergies were well-informed. On Tuesday, northern parts of the UK experienced mild pollen levels, while the south and east had medium levels. Wales, however, faced high levels.

Carol was back on BBC Breakfast this morning, providing viewers with the latest weather updates. Her continued efforts to keep the public informed, even when the news is less than ideal, have cemented her place as a trusted voice in British weather forecasting.

While the reactions to her recent updates were mixed, with some expressing frustration and others finding a silver lining, one thing is clear: Carol Kirkwood’s presence on BBC Breakfast is as essential as ever, rain or shine.
