ITV Daytime Schedule in Chaos as Fan-Favorite Show Gets Axed for Entire Week
Starting Tuesday 11 March, fans of regular daytime TV shows will notice a big change to their usual schedules. In order to make room for the Cheltenham Races, several fan favorites will either be cut short or completely replaced for the week. The coverage of the races will run through until Friday, drawing in millions of viewers, which is why ITV has had to make room for it.
Coverage of the Cheltenham Races will kick off every day from 12.45pm, after a 30-minute slot for ITV News, which has also been moved up in the schedule. This means that This Morning will be cut by 15 minutes, while Loose Women will be entirely off air for the week. The races will continue on ITV until around 5pm, when The Chase will air as usual, reported the Sun.
This shift has happened in previous years, but it often leaves regular viewers unhappy, especially those who aren’t interested in watching the races. Both This Morning and Loose Women are long-time favourites, offering the latest news, TV updates, and chatty discussions about everything from money-saving tips to opinions on current events. Many fans are understandably frustrated when their beloved shows are pushed aside for the sporting event.
Meanwhile, both shows have seen some changes behind the scenes. Loose Women regular Katie Piper is set to front her own new series called Katie Piper’s Weekend Retreat. The show will focus on the best country getaways in the UK, with a special emphasis on health and wellbeing. Each week, Katie and a celebrity guest will explore fun activities and indulge in pampering treatments as they celebrate the beauty of the UK’s countryside.
Another familiar face, Loose Women’s Linda Robson, is stepping out of the studio and into the West End. She’ll be starring in a production of Fawlty Towers, while also returning to the world of drama in the upcoming Channel 5 series The Good Ship Murder.
For now, the disruptions will only last until Friday, and it’s expected that things will return to normal from 17 March, with a regular schedule resuming. But for now, those hoping for their usual daytime fix will have to wait a little longer.
