BBC Viewers Rage as They ‘Switch Off’ Over Laura Kuenssberg’s Annoying Habit

BBC viewers tuning into Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg had a lot to say this weekend—though not about the politicians she was interviewing. Instead, many were left frustrated by what they claimed was the presenter’s habit of constantly interrupting her guests, leading some to threaten to switch off altogether.
As she hosted discussions with Pat McFadden, Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, Chris Philp, Shadow Home Secretary, and Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide, fans at home were quick to voice their frustrations. Former Conservative politician Penny Mordaunt also made an appearance, but it wasn’t the guests causing a stir—it was Laura herself, reported the Express.
Viewers flooded social media, complaining that she didn’t give her guests enough time to answer questions properly before jumping in. Some even suggested she should be replaced, calling for the return of fan-favorite journalists like Victoria Derbyshire, Andrew Marr, or Emily Maitlis.
One unimpressed viewer took to X (formerly Twitter) to vent: “#BBCLauraK – Please get this program off our screens and bring Andrew Marr back or Emily Maitlis! #SundayWithLauraKuenssberg #BBC.”
Another expressed their disappointment: “Every Sunday morning I cross my fingers that Victoria Derbyshire might be presenting. Let down again. Laura is here. #BBCLauraK.”
A third viewer didn’t hold back: “#BBCLauraK You’ve now got an awful habit of talking over your guests!! Let them answer your question. Or change the format, don’t have guests and you just give your opinions, ’cause that’s where it’s heading! #backoffabit.”
It’s not the first time viewers have taken issue with Laura’s presenting style, with similar complaints surfacing in the past. While her sharp questioning is what makes her a formidable political interviewer, some clearly feel she needs to dial it back and give her guests more room to respond.
Whether the BBC will take note of the backlash remains to be seen, but if social media is anything to go by, a growing number of viewers are losing patience.
