Bad father ADMITS murdering infant daughter while mother turned a blind eye to horrifying abuse campaign

In a harrowing revelation, a father has confessed to the manslaughter of his baby daughter, while her mother allegedly turned a blind eye to a disturbing pattern of abuse. The heart-wrenching incident unfolded in Devizes, Wiltshire, in September 2021, when three-month-old Miyah Warnock was rushed to the hospital due to “medical concerns” at the family home.

Despite immediate efforts to save her, Miyah succumbed to her injuries and was declared dead a month later. Samuel Warnock, the 29-year-old father, entered a guilty plea for manslaughter at Winchester Crown Court. Originally slated for a murder trial, prosecutors accepted the manslaughter plea.

Equally distressing is the admission of culpability by Miyah’s mother, Jasmine Warnock, also 29, who pleaded guilty to child cruelty for failing to protect her baby daughter. A recorded 999 call captured her describing Miyah’s distressing condition, stating that the child “could not breathe properly, her eyes were rolling backward, and she was going limp”, reported by Daily Mail.

During court proceedings, Sallie Bennett-Jenkins KC, representing Jasmine Warnock, clarified that her client’s guilty plea was based on the assertion that she did not witness any assault on Miyah. Bennett-Jenkins emphasized that Jasmine Warnock did not foresee the risk of death or serious injury to Miyah from the actions of Samuel Warnock.

The lawyer stated, “Jasmine Warnock did not inflict injury on Miyah and was not present when the injury was inflicted.” According to Bennett-Jenkins, Jasmine had inquired about bruising on Miyah, with Samuel attributing it to a “loss of sensitivity in his hands.” Samuel also claimed to have fallen down the stairs while carrying Miyah after his “knee had given way.”

The court learned that Jasmine Warnock was not present on September 20, the day when injuries leading to Miyah’s death were inflicted. Both parents are scheduled for sentencing on March 18 in the wake of this profoundly tragic and distressing case.
