Alison Hammond Contemplates Leaving ITV’s “This Morning” as She Considers Her Next Career Move

Alison Hammond, a beloved figure on ITV’s This Morning, is reportedly at a career crossroads and is contemplating her next big move. The 49-year-old television icon is feeling the urge to explore new opportunities and may not remain with This Morning “forever,” according to an insider who spoke to Closer.

The source revealed, “Alison feels like she’s now at a bit of a crossroads in her career, and that the time is coming for her to move on and try something new.” While Alison has enjoyed her time on the show, the insider noted that the pressures of early mornings and the responsibility of boosting the show’s viewership after a challenging period have taken their toll on her, told Birmingham Live.

“Alison doesn’t want to do This Morning forever, and in her heart, it feels like the time is coming close to moving on,” the source added. The insider also suggested that stepping away from the show could positively impact Alison’s personal life, allowing her more time with family and friends, as well as with her partner, David Putman.

Alison, who is currently in a relationship with David, a masseur 22 years her junior, has hinted at the future of their romance. In a candid conversation, she remarked, “Let me swap it over because we don’t want those rumors going out there, do you know what I mean? Not just yet. Maybe one day, who knows.”

Beyond her current career considerations, Alison has also reflected on her past struggles. Despite her fame, especially after her stint on Big Brother in 2002, Alison experienced financial difficulties in the mid-2000s. Speaking to The Guardian, she recalled working in a hairdressing salon to make ends meet. “There was a time when I couldn’t pay my mortgage…and I was really famous. I’d answer the phone, and do a few blow dries,” she shared.

Reflecting on her journey, Alison added, “It’s not all good all of the time. But I was all right, you know? That’s television, it’s fickle and it’s part of my journey, part of my power.” As Alison Hammond considers her next steps, fans and industry insiders alike are watching closely to see what exciting opportunities lie ahead for the beloved television star.
