Alex Jones Delighted to Leave West London After 14 Years for Dream Home from BBC’s The One Show
0Alex Jones has expressed her delight after deciding to leave West London, where she lived for 14 years. The TV presenter and her family recently moved into their dream home, a process that took them “four years” of searching.
Taking to Instagram, the BBC presenter shared a heartwarming photo of herself kissing her husband as they celebrated with a glass of fizz. She wrote, “We made it and are completely delighted with the new house. Thank you so much for all your messages of support over the last few weeks.”
She continued, “We are obviously living in complete chaos but it already feels like home. It was a big decision to leave West London where we have been very happy for 14 years, but we wanted the children to have space to play outside and to grow up in nature. It took nearly four years of searching to find the ‘one’. Somewhere where the children could appreciate nature but yet close enough to London for me to get to work, and we have. It feels like she was waiting for us to find her. We feel very lucky.”
Many of her 365,000 followers reacted positively to the news in the comments section. One person said, “Wonderful news!! And well done. Enjoy the chaos and home honeymoon period. It creates some happy outdoor core memories for you all!!”
Another commented, “We moved west to the country out of Chiswick and you won’t regret it. Sending much love to you in your new home xx.” A third person added, “Congratulations! Leaving the city for more space, nature, and a better balance was the best decision we made for our family. You’re going to love it!!”
Alex, who shares three children with her husband Charlie Thomson, has previously spoken about the challenges of balancing her work life with motherhood. She admitted that it has been “difficult” and that she often “runs herself ragged.” Speaking to Fabric Magazine, she said, “I feel super guilty for leaving them [her children]. But I know that I do a job I love and a job that keeps the family afloat. So, I don’t know… I do soft play in the morning and live telly in the afternoon, that’s kind of how my life goes. Literally, I’m with them right up until the last minute before I need to hop in the car to come to work. And then I rush home to try and do their last story before they go to sleep. I haven’t got the solution – I just basically try and do it all.”
Reflecting on her journey to motherhood, Alex told The Daily Mail, “Until I announced my pregnancy, some people assumed that I didn’t want children and preferred to focus on work. It was nothing to do with that. I just felt getting pregnant when I did was the right time for me.” Alex’s decision to move has been met with overwhelming support from her fans, marking a new chapter in her family’s life as they embrace their new home.
