GMB Star’s Baby News Stuns Fans—Susanna Reid’s Live On-Air Reaction Says It All

Good Morning Britain presenter Alex Beresford was all smiles on Tuesday’s episode as he shared the joyous news of his newborn daughter, Camille. The 43-year-old weather presenter beamed as co-hosts Susanna Reid and Ed Balls congratulated him live on air. Reid, with a warm smile, said, “Congratulations Alex, and with love…”, before being interrupted by Beresford, who quickly checked the time. As she confirmed it was 6:18 am, Alex reflected on a special moment.

“So, Camille was born three weeks ago today at 6:13, so this time three weeks ago, I was very much in the labour suite, having an absolutely amazing time,” he shared, visibly emotional. The show then displayed a touching image of Beresford cradling his newborn, with the proud father gushing about how the experience had been overwhelmingly positive, reported OK! Magazine.

“It’s been so good! So, so good, and I feel like I’ve got a new lease of energy,” he said enthusiastically. “Before, I was thinking, ‘Gosh, 45 this year, what’s it going to be like this time around?'”

Reid jokingly suggested that perhaps he needed a new project, a comment Beresford laughed at, agreeing with a chuckle. However, co-host Ed Balls brought some humor to the moment, noting that most new parents feel exhausted rather than re-energized.

“Can I say, Alex, it’s not normal for parents to have a new lease of energy? It’s normal for them to be exhausted. Does your partner have a new lease of energy?” Balls quipped. Beresford responded with admiration for his partner, Imogen, calling her “incredible” for her strength and perseverance.

“She’s just been incredible, hats off to her. If men were to have children, there would be no more children because what she did was absolutely incredible,” he said, praising her resilience through the early stages of motherhood.

Acknowledging the challenges of breastfeeding and newborn care, Beresford continued: “Hats off to her, the cluster feeding as well, the breastfeeding, big respect for all of that, and she’s persevered through it. It’s just been a joy to watch.”

Balls chimed in, recalling how his wife, Yvette Cooper, put him on nappy duty for the first month. Beresford responded: “Oh, I do the lot because that’s the one thing that I can do because she’s breastfeeding all the time. The one thing I can do is change nappies, so I’ve been changing every single nappy.” Reid humorously noted how occupied he must be, to which Beresford agreed, reflecting on how extraordinary the past three weeks had been.

Expressing gratitude, he added: “I just want to actually thank The Queen Charlotte at Chelsea Hospital. They were absolutely amazing, our midwife was incredible, and big respect for the NHS for everything that they do because I just saw so many people constantly going the extra mile. So grateful.”

Camille is Beresford’s second child. He also has a 14-year-old son, Cruz, from his previous relationship with Natalia Natkaniec.
