‘Escaping The Palace’ Teaser: Meghan Markle Wonders If She ‘Made The World’s Biggest Mistake’

Lifetime TV network dropped a new teaser of “Harry & Meghan: Escaping the Palace” on Wednesday. The movie series is based on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s life.

In the 30 second teaser, Lifetime shared a sneak peek into the events that encouraged the couple to leave their respective positions in the royal family. Besides Harry and Markle, the teaser also featured on-screen versions of Prince William, Kate Middleton, and Queen Elizabeth.

The teaser begins with Jordan Dean, who portrays Harry in the movie, promising to “do everything in my power to keep my wife and son safe.”

The next scene cuts to Middleton, portrayed by actress Laura Mitchell, who seems to warn Meghan (Sydney Morton), “This is the life we signed up for. Here we value dignity above all else.”

“I never thought this would be easy, but I wanted to make the Queen proud,” Meghan’s character replies.

The outfits donned by the characters in the movie series are recognizable for people who watch the Royal family closely. The teaser also featured Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana, played by actress Bonnie Soper.

“Let everyone understand it: the monarchy is at stake,” William said in the teaser. The queen, played by actress Maggie Sullivan, replied, “The monarchy will always survive.”

It concludes as Meghan wonders if she “made the world’s biggest mistake?”

Fans took to the comments section to share their reactions.

One of the well-wishers of the Royal family commented, “Wow! This movie isn’t going to make things better for the two brothers! So sad!” while another fan noted, “This shouldn’t have been produced. Talk about adding fuel to the fire.”

Lifetime shared the first look of “Escaping the Palace” in May. The network has not revealed the release date yet.

The movie is the third installment of the “Harry & Meghan” series.

The first installment was titled “Harry and Meghan: A Royal Romance,” which was dropped in 2018. Actors Murray Fraser and Parisa Fitz-Henley played the title characters.

The second part, titled “Harry & Meghan: Becoming Royal,” was released in 2019 and it featured actors Charlie Field and Tiffany Smith in the lead.
